(1917–72), lawyer; commissioner, Maryland Workmen’s Compensation Commission (1967–71); judge, Prince Georges County (Maryland) District Court (1971–72); president, Prince Georges County branch, NAACP. In 1949, as counsel for the NAACP, he successfully defended a Baltimore postal worker against a disloyalty charge. He was the first African American judge in Prince Georges County.
